About Kim Doak
I have been involved in the healing arts for 20+ years. As a therapeutic bodyworker, for 19 years, I have learned to listen deeply and follow the body’s innate wisdom and intelligence with respect and trust.
Seventeen years ago I began my journey into the world of western Shamanism. I was mentored by a woman who is a Shamanic practitioner, an herbalist and an aromatherapist. Plants are an integral aspect of my work in the world of spirit. The practice of shamanism is not merely a set of tools and skills. It is a way of life. I continue my shamanic mentorship with my guides and teachers in the spiritual realm.
I began my first herbal medicine apprenticeship 18 years ago. I have had many teachers and trainings in herbal medicine and aromatherapy over the years. The plant beings themselves have been some of my greatest teachers. I continue to learn and listen.
I have been blessed to be intricately involved and connected with various indigenous communities and ceremonies over the last 15 years. I spent many years with a Navajo elder who showed me the power of prayer, reverence for the basic alchemical elements for a balanced life and what it means to truly live in faith.
Up to this point, in time, some of my greatest learnings and deepest transformations have come from pain, loss and grief. As Rumi so eloquently puts it “The wound is the place where the light enters you”
Along with the above mentioned education, skills and experience I am also a trained Life Coach, a certified yoga instructor, Dream and Meditation teacher. I hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary studies with a primary focus on Psychology, Art and Chemical dependency.
I am deeply grateful and blessed by the many amazing, beautiful and powerful teachers I have had over the years!!!
It is with deep gratitude and honor that I wish to join you in this exploratory journey through the dreamworld. It is my intention to create a safe and healing space to explore and deepen our dreaming practices. I have been consciously working with my dreams for the last 17 years. It is through the practice of shamanism that I began to more consciously listen, pay attention and work with my dreams. I find dreaming and shamanic journeying very similar practices equal in their capacity to assist us on a multitude of levels, essentially with unlimited potential. I recently completed a Dream teacher certification through Atlantic University to support my internal prompting to both expand my own dreaming practices and facilitate dream work with others. I hope you will join me on this adventure and look forward to dreaming with you!
